Hello! My name is Nellie, and I guess you could call me a bit of a "nervous Nellie." You see, I know how much you humans would love to cuddle up with me (I AM irresistably cute, after all!), but I'm pretty shy. In time, I will learn to trust you and will show you affection, but I need time and space to get to that point. I'm also pretty independent and like to hang out by myself rather than play with toys. If you sit nearby me in the room, that is fine, but lots of holding and picking up - no, please! That really makes me anxious. One thing that I am really good about is that I don't chew on things around the house. Electrical cords? - no way! Books? - not this bunny! Furniture? - no sirree, not for me:) My teeth get a good workout munching on yummy hay. Plus, I'm a pretty mellow girl, preferring lounging to investigating everything. I am also quite good with my litterbox habits. I do prefer a high-backed litter pan, please. Much more private and suitable for a shy girl like me. Being a lovely Lionhead, people always want to touch me right away. Well... this frightens me. Especially being touched on my back - that is VERY scary! If you let me have my space and independence for a while, I will relax and feel safe enough for you to gently pet my forehead and ears. I also enjoy when you speak softly to me and sit on the ground at my level. A quiet, mellow home would make me very happy!
