He loves to go for walks! He is very active / aware during the day so walks, playing in the yard or with toys or playing with his foster sister are some of his favorite things. He loves to stand in front of the heater and loves to be covered with a blanket at night. We do not need to crate him during the day, he stays in part of the house with his sister and at night he sleeps in our room on his bed. He is good about letting us know when he needs to go out at night and hasn't had an accident while left alone for a very long time. He is just finding his voice, which is usually used toward the squirrels that he cannot get to! He came to us with some anxiety, but since being in a home and gaining weight and trust he has really opened up. His training is going very well, his anxiety has lessened greatly and I know that with more time and a forever family he will be an amazing family friend. Dempsey has Addison's disease, a treatable condition in which his body does not produce an adequate amount of hormones. Therapy simply involves oral medication, and with this medicine his disease is manageable and he is expected to live a long and happy life! Because of this condition, Dempsey has to eat small, frequent meals. He does best on a schedule of eating 8oz, three times a day, spread about 7 hours apart.
